Rehabilitation Nursing Care

Nursing services are available twenty four hours a day, seven days a week. Rehabilitation nurses specialize in caring for patients who have disabilities and are skilled in helping patients achieve their greatest potential and level of independence.  Skills learned by the patient in physical, occupational, and speech therapies are reinforced by the rehabilitation nursing department. Our nurses understand the unique problems faced by patients and family following the devastating effects of a chronic, progressive or permanent disability.  Rehabilitation nurses assure the patient’s safety and medical needs are met, and provide education to the patient and family with the goal of discharging to home and the community.

Texas Rehabilitation Hospital believes that quality rehabilitation requires advanced training. Many of our nursing staff members are Certified Rehabilitation Registered Nurses (CRRN) and/or Certified Brain Injury Specialists (CBIS).
